I'm beginning a project to document legacy and memorial markers in our parks—benches, trees, bricks, plaques, and other places where people are remembered.

My hope is to better understand and share the role these markers play for families, friends, and even complete strangers who happen to pass by. Each marker tells a story, but as far as I know, those stories exist in isolation. This project is an attempt to bring them together into a single, growing archive.
