I'm fascinated by memorials and the choices we make to remember people.

Some are permanent—a gravestone, a commemorative tree, a park bench, a monument. Others are more temporary, like flowers left along the side of the road. Each one represents not only a person being remembered, but also someone who decided that remembering mattered.

I'm exploring what these memorials mean, how they shape the places around us, and the connections they create between strangers across generations.

As part of that exploration, I've committed to documenting memorial markers that I come across, especially throughout the Columbus Metro Parks. I'm also working with Friends of Metro Parks to explore ways these stories can be better preserved and shared. I plan on using this page to document what I find and where the project leads.

The form below is the one I use to keep everything organized. If you've come across a memorial marker that you'd like to share, I'd be grateful if you'd add it as well. Every submission helps build a richer picture of the people and stories that surround us.
